Within a few years, his business had flourished, and by the early 1900s, Oelschig Nursery was the first U.S. producer of field-grown roses and the world’s largest shipper of rubber plant cuttings.

The Oelschig family has continued to operate the nursery for over 140 years, and it is now run by the fourth generation of Oelschigs. The nursery is still headquartered in Savannah, Georgia, and it continues to be a leader in the greenhouse industry.
